Artwork, editable text, imported fonts, reference images, compositions, components and original audio files remain browser-local. Nothing is uploaded or requested from an external service; only an explicit export creates files outside this browser.
7After 7 Sprite Lab works without an account. Pixel Art, smooth Illustration, editable Vector, Mixed Media and responsive Composition projects, animation, reusable symbols, rigs, components, templates, recovery snapshots and export settings remain in IndexedDB in this browser. They are never uploaded to After 7 Games or any other service.
Composition references are explicit: a live reference follows a saved browser-local project, an independent copy stops sharing mutable source data, and an embedded frozen copy travels with the composition. Dependency checks, responsive previews, component variants, nine-slice definitions and generic layout manifests stay local. Only an explicit export creates files outside the browser.
Pure Pixel Art remains an isolated packed-pixel mode. Illustration layers store serialisable sRGB bytes. Vector layers store editable paths, text and objects. Property and path keyframes coexist with sprite frames and never reinterpret their pixels or frame durations.
Production Studio stores linked symbol sources, nested instances, per-instance overrides, animation events, labels, notes, protected ranges, motion presets and rigged-character templates as editable data. Preview and deterministic bake evaluate a frozen snapshot; they never rewrite the open project.
Dope-sheet and graph-editor tracks use stable layer, object, bone and property targets. Scrubbing, playback ticks, timeline zoom, Composition preview targets, simulated UI states, motion paths and deformation previews do not enter Undo history; actual artwork, hierarchy, component and layout edits do.
Meshes, bone weights, constraints and path-node correspondence remain serialisable source data. Evaluated deformation and Composition images are disposable outputs, not project truth. Smooth raster bakes use premultiplied-alpha resampling; Pixel artwork and pixel nine-slices always use nearest-neighbour sampling.
Imported SVG and fonts are checked locally. Unsafe SVG content is rejected, font outlines are parsed only when you explicitly convert text, and files leave the browser only when you explicitly export them.
Reference-board PNG, JPEG and WebP files are stored with the project and never requested from a remote address. Reference overlays, measurement guides, mirror axes and highlighted source halves are excluded from artwork and engine exports. Create Mirror and cleanup previews operate on cloned documents and become one undoable action only after explicit confirmation.
After one successful load, the installed web app can start offline. Background Workers process expensive operations. Cancelled work is discarded before it can alter a project, and service-worker updates wait for your approval.
Audio Sync Studio stores validated WAV, MP3, OGG and WebM source files as serialisable local project data. Decoded audio buffers and waveform images are disposable caches. Tracks, non-destructive trims, cues, beats, dialogue regions, viseme mappings, state/UI associations and deterministic millisecond timing are included in backups and supported export packages. Sprite Lab does not record, transcode, recognise speech, or provide multitrack music production.
Clearing browser site data can remove local work. Use Workspace health to export one full-library .a7backup, or export individual .a7sprite projects and resource libraries.
Godot 4 and Unity 6 packages include installable editor importers, baked atlases, original validated audio, animation/event/cue metadata, controller mappings, nine-slice information and repeatable reimport guidance. Unity owns every generated .meta GUID; Sprite Lab never fabricates one. Tiled packages remain strictly tile-oriented and do not claim controller or responsive UI support.
Every engine package is planned through a versioned engine-neutral schema with declared adapter capabilities, deterministic hashes, source-to-output mappings and visual comparison. Built-in adapters are audited TypeScript modules. Imported adapters are declarative JSON only: scripts, remote resources, executable code and unsafe paths are rejected before planning.
Accounts, cloud storage, collaboration, payments, recording, speech recognition and AI generation are not part of Sprite Lab.
